game-style journey maps for real work

silktree

A skill tree for anything you are learning or building. The whole board is one JSON file that lives in your repo, and Claude keeps it up to date as you ship - awarding XP, unlocking nodes, and handing you back a page you can share.

install

/plugin marketplace add tobiasstrebitzer/silktree-plugin
/plugin install silktree@silktree

Two lines in a Claude session - no config file, no API key. Then just ask: "make me a skill tree for learning Rust".

The Vibe Coding Journey board

the library

5 boards · 7 themes

Every card is a real screenshot of that board in the theme it names, and every board opens under a theme switcher. Have one worth adding? Open a pull request against content/.

what's on a board

Branches

The lanes: areas, disciplines, epics. Each gets its own colour, and the board reads left to right by depth.

Four tiers

Keystone, major, minor, micro. Size is the signal, so importance is legible before a single label is read.

Requirements

What makes it a tree rather than a checklist. A node opens only once the nodes it depends on are unlocked.

XP, optionally

Real work earns points, points unlock nodes. Switch the economy off and the same board is a roadmap.

It does not have to be a game. A tree declares which mechanics it plays and what it calls them, so the same board reads as a skill tree, a roadmap (Ship / Unship, Blocked / Ready / Shipped) or a plain workflow. Ask for a roadmap and you get one.
